I had another enquiry this week about the availability of the 'ant black' seal fur which I use in a few of my fly patterns. Truth is, I have a friend who dyes materials and I always obtained my seal fur from him. Being a talented stillwater angler, he has always had a keen eye for a sexy colour hue and the subtle shades of various olives and clarets he produces are a joy to behold. I thanked my lucky stars for being able to cadge an odd packet from him from time to time.
I only recently discovered however, that this dyed seal's fur is now actually commercially available through a company called Castle Feathers. So there you have it - top quality material dyed by an avid angler who knows exactly what he wants to achieve with each shade. Follow the link below to buy.....and bear in mind that the photo doesn't do the colours justice - it really is exceptional stuff.

Hi Matthew!
Thanks for sharing the link to seals fur! A really sparkling material even though it's not to easy to dub.
Kind greetings,
Mats Olsson
